The EU staffing Unit aims to facilitate the entry of UK nationals to EU Institutions, through the provision of relevant advice and guidance and to support UK Nationals throughout their career in these organisations.

Our "EU Competitions / Vacancies" page has details of Competitions, Temporary Agent and Auxiliary Vacancies in the EU Institutions.

Our "LE Staff Vacancies" page has details of Vacancies for Locally Engaged Staff at the three Missions in Brussels (British Embassy, UK Representation to the European Union and UK Delegation to NATO).

If you are a UK Civil Servant, take a look at our "UK Civil Servant Vacancies" page. Please contact us to obtain an access password.

To learn more about recruitment to the EU Institutions, access the "Candidates Guide"Adobe PDF document.

This Guide is intended to help you compete effectively in European Union recruitment competitions, or concours. It explains how the EU Institutions recruit their staff and how you might increase your own chances of being recruited.

We can also offer advice on applying for a "stage" at the Commission. Have a look at the "Commission's Bureau des Stage's Guide"Adobe PDF document. Alternatively, you might also be interested in the placements offered by the Council of the European Union. For more information on these see the "Council's General Information on Traineeships".

We work very closely with the Cabinet Office's EU Staffing Branch who also help increase the number of British nationals working in the European Institutions. This Unit also manages the European Fast Stream Programme, a recruitment and training scheme for graduates who want to work in Europe. Further information about how the Fast Stream, European and Recruitment Division can help may be found at their web site: http://www.euro-staff.gov.uk
